Music and color: the San Pancho festival is here

Since 2001, San Pancho dusts off its party attire every February and turns the cozy little town into a vibrant scene full of energy. The San Francisco Nayarit music festival has become one of the most attended cultural events in the region, bringing together, year after year, countless national and international artists in a coastal paradise sheltered by the lush landscapes of the Sierra Madre.

This year will be no exception, and from February 23 to 25, 2024, the Plaza del Sol will be filled with music, dance, and color, with two fully equipped stages for you and your loved ones to enjoy the moment to the top, surrounded by rhythm, lights, and fun.

A Bit of History

In 2001, two San Pancho residents named John & Patricia Alexander invited some friends who were passionate about music to a small home gathering on their patio. Between laughter and pleasant tunes, that moment was definitely something to be repeated, so it became an annual meeting that gradually grew in magnitude.

Relatively quickly, only five years later, the event became the great San Pancho music festival, with more than 100 invited musicians and a presence in the town's main square – an open invitation to the general public.

The festival is a free event that seeks to turn the spotlight on local and international talent visiting the region. For the independent artists, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show their unique vision, and for the attendees, it is a wonderful moment, full of creativity where, perhaps, you could discover your new favorite band or singer.

Everything you need to know about the San Pancho music festival

So that you can enjoy the festival to the fullest, we have some tips and essential information about the venue, how to get there, the program and much more:

Where is it going to be?

The festival will be from February 2 to 25, 2024, at the Plaza del Sol in San Pancho, a colorful and welcoming coastal town located less than an hour from Puerto Vallarta in the Riviera Nayarit region.

And how can I get there?

From Puerto Vallarta, there are several options. By public transport, you can board one of the long-distance buses or a Compostela bus that goes to Lo de Marcos. You can also ask for a taxi or Uber if you don't want to wait, or if you prefer to drive, you can take federal highway 200 going north and follow the signs until you reach San Pancho.

Is there parking?

Being in the main square, the festival itself does not have parking, but you can leave your vehicle on any of the side streets if you find a good spot.

How much does it cost?

Nothing at all! The festival is free and open to the public.

Where can I watch the schedule?

All the festival information will be available on the official website, including the program, which is yet to be announced. We recommend you stay tuned to see all the surprises that are coming.

If you are already planning your first trip of 2024, and you like to dance and sing at the top of your lungs, the San Pancho music festival will be just the right place for you: three days full of music of all kinds, on two fully equipped stages and in the company of amazing people as passionate of music as you are.
